Here’s an example of such a paraphrase, covering all four stanzas in the poem. Each paragraph is a stanza.

I was walking around rather aimlessly one day, when I came upon a field full of daffodils beside a small lake.

The flowers seemed to go on forever, filling the landscape with shades of yellow. And whenever the wind blew, the petaled heads nodded and swayed back and forth on their stems.

I noticed more evidence of air movement in the field than on the nearby water surface. It was a gorgeous scene, and I couldn’t help but feel happy merely at witnessing the beauty of it. At the time, I didn’t realize what a gift I had been given.

Because from this moment on, whenever I felt listless or restless back at home, all I had to do was picture that daffodil field in my mind. I could cheer myself up and make myself smile again. Flower power!
