At Sunday School, the children are awarded tickets every time they show they have memorized a Bible verse.  Those who accumulate tickets equaling 2000 verses are awarded a coveted Dore Bible as a prize.  Tom uses his treasures to trade for tickets so that he can be honored with a Bible, and thus impress Becky and her father.  Unfortunately, his duplicity is quickly exposed when he is asked to prove his Bible knowledge in front of everybody!
