Here are a few ideas for photos, symbols, quotes, etc. that would work well for a scrapbook project:

A picture of "Scout" all dressed up for her first day of school - include an explanation of how she hates having to wear a "darn ol' dress"

A quarter - explain that Scout got into trouble her first day of school after explaining to Miss Caroline why Walter couldn't take her quarter; you might also introduce Atticus's quote about the importance of seeing things from another's point of view:

“First of all ... if you can learn a simple trick, Scout, you’ll get along a lot better with all kinds of folks. You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view ... until you climb into his skin and walk around in it” (Lee 29-30)

A feather - include the quote from Atticus where he tells Jem and Scout,

"Shoot all the bluejays you want, if you can hit em, but remember it's a sin to kill a mockingbird" (Lee 119).

An old spelling medal or a gum wrapper - explain that these were items Jem and Scout found in the tree in front of the Radley house

A piece of thread - explain that this is a piece of thread from Jem's pants that he got caught in the Radley fence

A piece of blanket - explain that this is from the blanket that the kids suspect Boo put on Scout during the fire at Miss Maudie's house

A picture of handcuffs - explain that Tom Robinson was arrested and jailed for allegedly raping Mayella Ewell

A camellia petal (or other flower petal) - explain that this is from the camellia Mrs. Dubose gave Jem from her garden after he had finished reading to her as punishment for destroying her camellia bushes

A page from a Bible or hymn book - explain that this is from Calpurnia's church, taken when the kids attended church with her

A Coke label - explain that this is what Dolphus Raymond really drinks, rather than alcohol, as Scout and Dill learn when they speak to him outside the courtroom

A picture of a cocoon - Jem says, upon realizing that people aren't what he thought,

"It's like bein' a caterpillar in a cocoon, that's what it is ... like something asleep wrapped up in a warm place.  I always thought Maycomb folks were the best folks in the world, least that's what they seemed like" (Lee 288).

A photo of a ham - explain that this is what Scout dressed up as for the school play

A piece of chicken wire - explain that it was the wire from Scout's costume that helped to save her life

A picture of the cover of the book The Grey Ghost - explain that this is the book Atticus read Scout at the end, where she ends up talking about how it turned out Boo was "real nice."
