As was mentioned in the previous post, all three of these characters can be found in Chapter 12 when Calpurnia takes Jem and Scout to Sunday service at First Purchase African M.E. Church. Lula is an ornery woman who challenges Cal's decision to invite Jem and Scout to their African American church. Lula does not think that white children should be allowed at First Purchase African M.E. Church and displays her prejudiced feelings as soon as she sees Cal with the Finch children. Zeebo is Calpurnia's son. He is one the few literate African Americans in the community and leads the congregation in singing hymns. Zeebo is also Maycomb's garbage collector and treats the Finch children with respect. Reverend Sykes is the pastor at First Purchase African M.E. Church. He takes up multiple collections and has the doors locked until the members give ten dollars for Helen Robinson's cause.
