When I teach this book, it usually has a strong impression to make on my students. Different students react to different parts of the book though. There's something for everyone. What stands out to you? Which parts were most moving? Use that to get started.

Essay idea for To Kill a Mockingbird

Hi, I can write any essay on any topic in To Kill a Mockingbird. Anyone have any good ideas? Thanks...

As was already noted, there are lots of essay starters in that section of the enote on this book. However, if I had to suggest one, I'd start from two directions: what matters most to you, and what the assignment needs to be. In other words, start from the inside and the outside.

I find it hard to do the right thing, even when I know what it is, so I would be most interested in analyzing the sources of ethical action in the novel. What makes Atticus, Scout, Boo, etc., do the right thing? How can we learn from them?

Let us know what you choose, tal.

There is a whole list of possible essay topics at this enotes link:

My favorite topic is the relationship between the children and Boo, and how the children begin to see him as a real person rather than a mythical character to be afraid of.

Good luck!
