The Wolf Summary
Antone is a mixed blood who grew up between his mother’s family on the reservation and the big house in Pluto. Their house was built on Joseph Coutts’s land, which he won in his first big case. English Bill returned to Pluto for a time, as did the Buckendorfs, who were then party to the murder of Cuthbert Peace.
Joseph opened a practice in Pluto. His son also became a lawyer, and both married Chippewa women.
Antone tries to keep secret an early crime in which he defended John Wildstrand. His grandfather was the father of Junesse. Everything in this town is interconnected. Wildstrand was the father of Corwin Peace; Corwin’s uncle, Billy, decided to defend his sister’s honor with a jammed gun. Wildstrand told Antone too much. His wife was Neve Harp, and she hates Antone for defending her villainous husband.
