Uncle Tunde escorts Papa's children out of Nigeria after the murder of his brother's wife. Tunde has been vocal about his brother's controversial writing about Nigeria's leaders, which would eventually put his family in danger. When Sade receives a threat from her father's enemies over the phone, Tunde tries to take the phone in order to comfort her.

Uncle Tunde suggests that Sade and Femi live with Uncle Dele in London. Tunde hides the children in his car as he drives to the airport, lying to a police officer that there is nothing worth checking in the car. He finds a woman who is able to take the children with her as she boards a plane to London. Since Papa's passport was seized by the government, Uncle Tunde takes on the responsibility of leading Sade and Femi out of Nigeria.
