Stuart Little was E.B. White's first novel and is considered a classic for children by many today. This is the story of a talking mouse, who is born into a human family. Stuart finds a friend in Margolo, the bird, protecting her from his family's cat, Snowball and eventually going in search of the bird when she disappears. Stuart has many big adventures in his quest to find Margolo and meets up with some big dangers, too. Stuart Little is a wonderful story about friendship and about loyalty and dedication to those friends. The setting for Stuart's adventures is New York City in about 1945, which was when the book was first published. Stuart rides buses, navigates a tiny boat, and does just about anything a human being can do--plus more!
