NOTES FOR TEACHERS:

Lesson Essential Questions:

  • What are some parallels between the virtues of knighthood in Sir Gawain and the Green Knight and today’s moral values?
  • How can I make comparisons between modern-day figures and Arthurian values?
  • How can I make text-to-world and text-to-self connections, and how can these connections help me to understand the text?

Background Info:

I gave this project to my students (high school juniors who read significantlybelow grade level) after using an illustrated version of this story as a readaloud. It would be something that could accompany any form of reading the poem/text as well. You may want to add to it or take away from it, depending on the level of your students.

About

This is an extra-credit project I gave my high school students after using "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight" as a read-aloud.
