What are some weaknesses of a timid husband and their consequences?

I think that people daydream because they feel that something is lacking in their own lives.  This can be bad, like in the case of Walter Mitty.  He is dreaming because he is inadequate.  Or it can be good, I think, if your daydreams are of achievements that are within your reach.  Say you daydream of getting better grades and that inspires you to achieve them, for example.

As far as timid husbands, this seems like an outdated stereotype and I do not know any personally.  I would think that the consequence of being like Mitty would be that your wife and kids would probably not really respect you and that you would not do all that well in your career either.
