Science Fair Project: Comparing Sweet Potatoes & Baking Potatoes in Different Environments

For this project I was wanting to compare how sweet potatoes and baking potatoes sprout in: light and dry, light and moist, dark and dry, & dark and moist. I'm not sure how to set this up and I have 2 weeks to do this and I'm wanting to start ASAP. If anyone can give suggestions I'd really appreciate it.

I think you are looking at two many variables, in other words, two different species of potatoes and many different contrasting environments. I would try to fine tune what I was doing. Why not just pick one variable-- for instance, light and dry and see whether sweet potatoes or white do better in that environment. The control environment would be dark and moist which is what is usually the environment for sprouting potatoes.

In an experiment you always want to have controls.  So everything should be the same other than the variable you are messing with.  The potatoes should be the same size and shape, roughly, and in the same place for each of the places.
