The molarity of a solution is the concentration of the compound dissolved in terms of moles of the compound per liter of solution.

Here, sucrose is being dissolved in water to create a solution of sucrose and the required concentration of the sucrose solution is 0.22 M

of sucrose has to be dissolved in one liter of water to create a 0.22 M solution, X should be equal to 0.22 times the molar mass of sucrose. The molar mass of sucrose is 342 g/mole.

=> X = 0.22*342 = 75.24 g

75.24 grams of sucrose if dissolved in one liter of water would give a solution of 0.22 M.
