Songs for Romeo and Juliet I have a literatur assignment on Romeo a Juliet, and i have to find 8 songs that go with different scenes within the play. I already have 5 songs: "If your James Dean then Im Audrey Hepburn", "Roger Rabbit", "Don't You Ever Forget About Me" (all by Sleeping with Sirens), "Million Dolor Houses [The Painter](Pierce the Veil), and "If It Means A Lot To You" (A Day to Remember). Anyone have any sugestions for three more songs, preferably the same type of musice, or any other music from the 90's and up?

The rock band Dire Straits had a hit with "Romeo and Juliet" back in 1980, while Lou Reed (of the '60s The Velvet Underground) recorded "Romeo Had Juliet" in 1989. Sergei Prokofiev's "Romeo and Juliet" is one of the most beautiful ballet scores ever; classical composers Tchaikovsky, Gounod and Berlioz also based works on Shakespeare's young lovers. And the Johnny Mercer/Henry Mancini "Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet" from the 1968 film is endearingly memorable and beautiful.

It ocurred to me the other day when I was listening to the radio at this song was suited to Romeo and Juliet.

If I die young, bury me in satin
Lay me down on a, bed of roses
Sink me in the river, at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song

I don't know why, but this song always reminds me of Romeo and Juliet. Obviously it is about dying young, but the connection goes deeper than that. It is about the pain and loss you know you are leaving behind when you die young, yet with an acceptance of your death.
