The equation of a line passing through two points (x1, y1) and(x2, y2) is (x - x1)/(y - y1) = (x2 - x1)/(y2 - y1)

The points we have here are (2,3) and (5,8).

Substituting the given values, we get

(x - 2)/(y - 3) = (5 - 2)/(8 - 3)

=> (x - 2)/(y - 3) = 3/5

=> 5x - 10 = 3y - 9

=> 5x - 3y - 1 = 0

The required equation is 5x - 3y - 1 = 0
