Quick answer:

For a movie adaptation of Paul Zindel's "The Pigman," suitable actors might include John Cusack as John, given his ability to portray a conflicted hero; Brian Dennehy as Mr. Pignati, due to his versatility in playing diverse characters; and a young Juliette Lewis as Lorraine, capturing her complexity and emotional depth.

While I have not read the novel The Pigman by Paul Zindel in a few years, I would love to see a movie adaptation of it. If I were to cast the movie at the time (or within a few years) I might have cast a young John Cusack as John. He’s always been a good actor, and I think he could play the conflicted hero. I would have cast Brian Dennehy as Mr. Pignatti. He’s a great actor and is capable of playing a wide range of characters. Lorraine is a little more difficult. A younger Juliette Lewis might have worked.
