Student Question
What is the foundation of your life?
Quick answer:
The foundation of life varies for individuals, encompassing goals, personal growth, moral conduct, and faith. For some, working towards short-term goals provides purpose and motivation. Others prioritize being the best person they can be, guided by a higher moral code and helping others, often reflected in professions like teaching. Additionally, faith plays a critical role for many, offering meaning and direction, with everything else, including job and family, following its lead.
Working toward short-term goals, for what it's worth, is one of the foundations of my day to day life. Though this is not a philosophical tenet, working to build, to grow, to progress, and to succeed provides a good part of the impetus I need to anchor me in a sense of purpose.
I found my life on my faith in God. I'm not always a very good disciple, but it is the most important thing in my life and I would be lost without it. When I drift from it I can feel life start to lose it's meaning and value, and other things such as job and family start to suffer as a result. Faith comes first, then everything else.
