Annabeth has plenty of likes and dislikes. As a child of Athena, she is wise, practical, and strategic. She likes order, solving puzzles and riddles, and architecture. Annabeth loves knowing things and applying that knowledge to protect the things and people she loves. She also loves Camp Halfblood, which she sees as a true home.

While she is generally a loving person, Annabeth is very opinionated in her dislikes. She dislikes disorder, chaos, and frivolity. While Percy is her friend, she is often frustrated by his impulsivity and short-sighted behavior. Annabeth needs a plan and partners who stick to it. She prefers to use strategy to avoid combat when possible and dislikes bullies. This means that, even though she is the child of the Goddess of War, she doesn't typically get along with children of Ares, the God of War. She also dislikes what she sees as the "airhead" behavior of peers like the children of Aphrodite.

Finally, Annabeth has complicated feelings about family. When we meet her, she very openly dislikes her stepmother and younger half-brothers. As a child, she ran away from home and found solace with two other demigods, Thalia and Luke. This leads to an even more complicated situation when Thalia is cursed to become a tree and later when Luke begins down a much darker path. Throughout the series, Annabeth's feelings of like and dislike towards her biological and chosen families shift and evolve.
