Will the Phaeacians help Odysseus in The Odyssey?

Quick answer:

Yes, the Phaeacians help Odysseus by offering him hospitality, rest, clothing, food, and a ship for his journey home. Their assistance allows Odysseus to recount his adventures, which is crucial for the narrative. The Phaeacian king and queen respect and support his efforts to return to his family, ultimately ensuring his safe passage back to Ithaca after his ordeal with Calypso left him without a vessel.

Yes, the Phaecians ultimately help Odysseus. They way they do this is two-fold. For purposes of our ability to hear the entire story, the majority of it is told to the Phaecians in Odysseus' voice because they asked of his adventures.

For the purpose of Odysseus returning home, the Phaecians provided him a place to rest, and then clothing, food and a vessel in which he could sail. The one he had from Calypso was no longer able to carry him. In fact, the king and queen of Phaecia are the ones who make this available. This shows that they respect who he is and value his effort to return to his wife and family.
