The New Our Bodies, Ourselves
Since 1970, the Boston Women’s Health Book Collective has done much to educate women and men about the physical and mental characteristics of women. For this new edition, OUR BODIES, OURSELVES has been extensively rewritten and revised. The original sections on general health and fertility have been expanded, and there are new sections on alternatives to medical care, reproduction, alcohol, drugs and smoking, environmental and occupational health, aging, and international issues affecting women. Each chapter is written by the women of the collective and is interspersed with comments from women regarding the topic. There are many photographs, diagrams, charts, and tables which help in understanding the text.
Each chapter concludes with an extensive “resource” section which lists technical and nontechnical articles, books, audiovisual materials, organizations, and other sources for additional information.
This is an important reference book for women of any age and for any man interested in the health and well-being of women.
