The formula for this conversion is

C = (F - 32)* 5/9

In this formula, C is the temperature in degrees Celsius while F is the temperature in degrees Fahrenheit.

You can also state it as C = (F - 32)*.5555

For example, let us use this to find the boiling point for water in degrees Celsius.  We know that this is 212 degrees Fahrenheit.

C = (212 - 32)*.5555

C = 180 * .5555

C = 99.99

If you really multiply it by 5/9 you get an even 100.  So to be as precise as possibly, you should multiply by 5/9.
