In the early stages of the play, Lady Macbeth discloses that she has a strong personality and wants very much to come to power by the way she encourages Macbeth to dispose of King Duncan. She plans the murder and pushes a queasy Macbeth to complete he deed. She does show a certain weakness, however, when she is unable to kill Macbeth because he looks like her father. Perhaps this only shows the human side of Lady Macbeth. Later, as the play progresses, she shows that she is overcome by guilt in the sleepwalking episode. And even later when she kills herself, she shows that the once power hungry queen, has a change of heart and a change of doubting mind.
