Fantastic claims require fantastic evidence, and I have seen no evidence that the incident was faked. Given the US government's release of footage of his home, as well as the multitude of first-hand accounts of the raid, including some by Pakistanis, it seems unlikely that it is fake. Even when he was holed up in the mountains, Bin Laden regularly issued videos as "proof of life." If he were still alive, we would know something about it, I think.

First, let's note that he was killed, not captured.  Second, there's no way it was fake.  If the US were trying to fake it, Al-Qaeda would have produced evidence that bin Laden was alive as a way of making a laughingstock of the US.
