How did Miyax lure the arctic ground squirrel to her hands?

All you have to do to answer this question is to look at page 7 in your book (or at least that is where it is in my book).  Miyax talks about this at the point where she has been watching the wolves for a couple of days trying to figure out what their various signs mean.

She is thinking about how knowing the ground squirrel signs was helpful.  She says that they have a certain sign for showing other ground squirrels that they are friendly.  She says that she managed to get the squirrels into her hand by imitating that sign.
