The Director storms into the Mess Hall with two private guards—the same ones who dragged Noor away. They aren't government soldiers and are only loyal to the Director. He's so angry that he can't control his physical reactions. He orders Layla bound while spit flies from his mouth, his veins bulge, and his face turns a deep crimson red.
The Director says that everyone will suffer consequences. He is almost gleeful at the thought that he'll get to hurt Layla. He rubs his hands together and declares that he, himself, is the law.
What The Director doesn't know is that when Layla threw herself at David, she told him to open Instagram on his phone. He live streams the entire interaction after that point. To keep Layla from being hurt, David shows the Director what he's doing and states that the Director is hurting children and that Layla is a Californian and an American citizen.
The Director gets hot with fury, pulling at his collar and breathing hard through his nostrils. He tries to save face by offering to have her checked in the clinic and tells her to explain to her boyfriend's viewers that the allegations are false. She refuses. The Director is furious, but he leaves without further violence.
