Hairs Summary
Everyone in the family has different hair. Papa’s hair sticks up like the bristles of a broom, the narrator’s is lazy and unruly, Carlos’s is straight and thick, Nenny’s is slippery, and Kiki’s is like fur. The narrator’s mother’s hair, however, is full of pretty curls. When she is holding you, and you put your nose into it, her hair smells of bread, and you feel safe.
