Gandalf's sword is named 'Glamdring.'

Gandalf first finds the sword in the Trollshaws in The Hobbitafter exposing Bert, William, and Tom to the sun (which turns the trolls into stone).  Apparently, the trolls had a stash of treasure in a nearby cave.  Gandalf and the dwarves recovered three significant swords that day:  Glamdring (the foe hammer or 'Beater' to the goblins), Orcrist (Biter), and Sting, which becomes Bilbo's own personal sword and then later, Frodo's in Lord of the Rings. Tolkien describes the swords as having "beautiful scabbards and jeweled hilts," with the ability to glow faintly blue when enemies approached ("Roast Mutton").

Gandalf carries Glamdring with him throughout  The Hobbit  and  The Lord of the Rings.
