In the book, The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien, one of the settings is a section north of Hobbiton, called Hobbiton Hill or simply The Hill, which is considered the most prestigious area in which to live. The Baggins family lived in The Hill section for many generations. It is said, “The Bagginses had lived in the neighborhood for time out of mind…” Bag-End, which is the home of Bilbo Baggins, is tunneled into The Hill and takes up a large amount of area above ground in Hobbiton. Bag-End was considered one of the most sumptuous Hobbit holes in the neighborhood. Because the area is so prestigious, Bilbo’s relatives, who want to take over his home, decide to sell off his belongings after he has been gone for a year.
