Mr. Bovee was a famous American author whose early life mimicked that of many of his contemporaries containing a mixture of privately obtained academic instruction along with work experience and an eventual passage of the bar exam leading to a long and successful law career.  His working life was filled with variety as he was involved in a variety of different ventures including the founding of the Athenaeum Club in NYC, and working as a regent for the Long Island College Hospital.  He wrote two relatively well known books and spent a great deal of his spare time reading and writing, and edited a small newspaper meant for the working class folks for a time.
