The Final Hiding Place

The dragon flies farther and farther away from Gringotts without stopping. Harry, Ron, and Hermione hang on for dear life. They are battered by both wind and cold as they fly along.  All three of them wonder how long a dragon could possibly fly. Harry worries about Voldemort finding out about their search for Horcruxes.

After what seems like forever, the dragon begins to lose height. Harry, Ron, and Hermione jump off into the water as the dragon flies low over a small lake. The dragon lands on the opposite bank and doesn’t harm the three friends.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione share a nice bout of laughter, serving as some definite stress release, and joke that someone might have figured out that they broke into Gringotts Bank. Just when the three friends finally begin to discuss what really has happened, Harry has a Voldemort vision in which Voldemort finds out that Harry has stolen a Horcrux. Voldemort is enraged and kills all of the wizards in the room. Then Voldemort begins to ponder whether Harry could have destroyed any of his Horcruxes. Voldemort can not feel when one is destroyed.

Through Voldemort’s thoughts, Harry learns about all of the different Horcruxes, including revealing thoughts that Nagini the snake is a Horcrux in itself and that yet another Horcrux is hidden inside Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry also learns that Voldemort is going to visit a few of the hidden Horcrux hiding spots himself, specifically the Gaunts’ home and the Inferi-ridden lake in the cave. Voldemort also decides to warn Severus Snape that Harry Potter may have figured everything out and be on his way to Hogwarts.

Luckily, since Voldemort revealed that yet another Horcrux is at Hogwarts, Harry, Ron, and Hermione can begin looking for it. Unfortunately, Voldemort’s thoughts don’t betray him enough to reveal exactly where the Horcrux might be.

When Harry finally finishes his Voldemort reverie, he immediately tells Ron and Hermione what he has seen. Harry tells Ron and Hermione that they must leave for Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry immediately. Harry is afraid Voldemort will try to retrieve the Horcrux and find it a new hiding place if the three don’t beat him to it.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione immediately cover themselves with Harry’s Invisibility Cloak and apparate to Hogsmeade so that they can walk easily to Hogwarts and begin searching for the Horcrux hidden there.
