Malfoy Manor

Harry, Ron, and Hermione are unable to escape, so Hermione jinxes Harry so he does not look like himself. The three don’t reveal their true names and are thus lumped in with Dean Thomas, Griphook, and some other prisoners. Unfortunately, the Snatchers raid the magical tent and discover incriminating items such as the Sword of Gryffindor and pictures of Hermione. They figure out they have Harry Potter; therefore, they take the prisoners to Malfoy Manor, Voldemort’s main place of operation.

As the group disapparates to Malfoy Manor, Harry’s scar begins hurting and he has a vision of a smiling figure who taunts Voldemort and says that he never had the item. As the vision concludes, the Malfoys are all trying to figure out if Harry (under Hermione’s jinx) is actually Harry Potter at all. Draco’s parents are beside themselves for Draco to figure out the truth.

Bellatrix Lestrange appears. She and Lucius Malfoy fight about if and when they should touch the dark mark on their Death Eater forearms to summon Voldemort. Bellatrix realizes that Harry should not be harmed because Voldemort wants to kill Harry himself. She orders Harry and Ron down to the cellar, where they meet Luna Lovegood, Ollivander, and Dean Seamus. Above, they can hear Hermione being tortured about where they procured the Sword of Gryffindor.

In the cellar, Ron and Harry are desperate. Harry takes out his magical shard of mirror, sees a blue eye, and screams for help. Suddenly, Dobby appears and offers to rescue Harry Potter. Harry requests that Dobby first take Luna Lovegood, Ollivander, and Dean Seamus to Bill and Fleur’s house, where they will be safe. Dobby agrees, and they disapparate.

The crack from Dobby’s exit alerts the Death Eaters upstairs, and they send Wormtail down to investigate. Ron and Harry ambush Wormtail, who hesitates in killing Harry because he “owes” Harry his life. Wormtail’s hesitation activates something in his metal hand, given to him by Voldemort, and as a result his own hand strangles him to death.

Ron and Harry run upstairs to find Hermione semi-conscious from her torture. Bellatrix also asks Griphook if the Sword of Gryffindor is real. Having been told by Harry to lie, Griphook tells her that the sword is a fake. Bellatrix immediately touches her dark mark to summon Voldemort and Harry’s scar burns horribly.

With Voldemort on his way, Bellatrix says that “we can dispose of the Mudblood,” Hermione. Ron disarms Bellatrix with Wormtail’s wand, and Harry grabs Bellatrix’s wand. The enraged Bellatrix threatens to kill Hermione with a knife if Ron and Harry continue. Both Ron and Harry drop the wands.

Suddenly, Dobby appears and drops a huge chandelier on Bellatrix, allowing Harry and Ron to grab the wands again and rescue Hermione. Dobby grabs them and disapparates to Bill and Fleur’s new home: Shell Cottage. As they arrive, Dobby falls down dead with Bellatrix’s silver knife in his chest.
