Why does the grandmother dress so nicely for the trip in "A Good Man Is Hard to Find"?

The grandmother dresses nicely for the trip to illustrate for the reader her 'breeding'. She is supposed to be a 'good woman' and evidence of this is that she knows to dress up for taking a trip. Of course, in the story it becomes clear that she really isn't a good woman and therefore her attention to detail and being a lady becomes ironic.
