Hunter Thompson changed journalism with his new techniques and style of writing which came to be known as "Gonzo Journalism". The 1960's culture changed everything in America. It represented a breaking away from the old styles and ways of doing things. Everything was being rethought by the young people as they tried to "re-invent" the nation to make it a better place. Hunter Thompson moved away from the old style of journalism and instead of just reporting on events, he became a part of them. His new style of writing shows how the writer and people play a role in the stories as well.
