To add to the good advice above, organizing following a blueprint before writing is extremely helpful.  Then, when writing always use transitional words. Finally, revise your paragraph by rewriting for cohenrence and untiy.

Now, regarding your paragraph, you can combine the first and second sentences in order to make a more interesting and effective topic sentence:

One of the most successful fantasy sitcomes, 3rd Rock from the Sun is a thirty-minute televison show that has run with 139 episodes; presently it can be viewed on weeknights on Channel 20 at 7:30 p.m. EST.

Revise sentences for clarity and organization. For instance, avoid the vague "it."  Here is some of what you have written followed by a revision which can serve as a model for you.

It forecasts a group of aliens trying to pass as ‘typical’ earthlings while living among humans in ordinary suburbia, where they appear zany and occasionally deranged due to their spacey heritage. They become confused and entranced by the commonplace, from everyday things to emotion like love or aggression.

Revision:

This show, which features a group of aliens, who try to pass themselves off as "typical" earthlings living in suburbia, create zany and inconguous situations because of their lack of understanding of earthly ways.  For instance [transition], they become confused, yet entranced by the mundane for earth, and are certainly perplexed by human emotions such as love and aggression.  In one episode the aliens _______________________________[describe what they do as an illustration of your point]

Then, tie your last part better to the previous sentences by connecting ideas.  For instance, write something like this, using transitional words,

Because of the original design and unique, zany humor of 3rd Rock from the Sun, the show has received awards, such as ...., an award received for the episode entitled "Moby Dick," written by ______, an episode which portrayed _________.

Some good details, but the presentation is unclear. Is this show still in production? If not, you should use past tense and give the dates of its production. The next issue is organization. You start with the broadcast details, then move to plot, then to awards, then to details of a specific episode. You need to organize this more clearly, perhaps starting out with a statement in the form "Title of Episode", directed by Name and written by Name, was the Nth Episode of Season X of "Title of Show". Next, briefly summarize the show, including how many seasons it ran, number of episodes, and major awards.

Next, you need to provide a basic overview of the main characters and plot line of the show as background for discussion of the specific episode.

Also, work with the Writing Centre at your university on syntax and word choice.

I need suggestions to improve the introduction of my review for the TV show 3rd Rock from the Sun, specifically the episode "Moby Dick."

From break-ups to emotional voids, 3rd Rock from the Sun depicts an outlook regarding society’s views and relationships that is dramatized in the episode “Moby Dick”. 3rd rock from the Sun TV show is a half-hour sci-fi sitcom on Channel 10 screening on weeknights at 7:30 pm. 3rd Rock from the Sun is one of the most successful fantasy sitcoms lasting six season and 139 episodes. It delineates a group of aliens trying to pass as ‘typical’ earthlings while living among humans in ordinary suburbia, where they appear zany and occasionally deranged due to their spacey heritage. They become confused and entranced by the commonplace, from everyday things to emotions like love or aggression. 3rd Rock from the Sun had been nominated for and won numerous major television awards including “Best Edited Half-Hour Series for television” in 1999. The episode entitledMoby Dick”was created by Bonnie Turner and Terry Turner, directed by Terry Hughes and written by Michael Glouberman and Andrew Orenstein. “Moby Dick” deals with facing one’s own emotions and relationship issues which many viewers may find relevant.

In terms of content, I have only one suggestion here.  It has to do with the final sentence of your introduction.  Throughout this review, you say that the show is about weight gain and about society’s view of obesity.  Your conclusion focuses on this as well.  In your last sentence of this introduction, by contrast, you are talking about emotions and relationship issues.  Those do appear in the rest of the review, but only inasmuch as they are connected to weight gain.  You should bring up the idea of weight and obesity here in the introduction.

My only other comment is the sentence that starts “It delineates…” and the sentence after this.  These sentences are taken almost word for word from a website that I easily found by Googling one of the phrases.  In one of your previous postings of this essay, I said those words did not sound like your writing.  You really should change these two sentences or quote and cite them properly.  You endanger your grade by having unattributed quotes or close paraphrases in your review.

Outside of these concerns, this is a good introduction.

Can you provide suggestions to improve my introductory paragraph about the TV show "3rd Rock from the Sun"?

3rd rock from the Sun TV shows is a half an hour sci-fi sitcom on channel 20 screening on weeknights at 7:30 pm. 3rd Rock from the Sun is one of the most successful fantasy sitcom genre lasting six season and 139 episodes. Moby Dick deals with facing one’s own emotions and relationship issues which many viewers may find relevant.

The last time you posted this essay, it was going to be about perceptions of obese people.  If you have changed it to a simple review of an episode of this show, this is a good introduction.  It gives a brief outline of the series overall and a general statement about the theme of the specific episode.  I will focus my comments on details since the overall content is good.

In the first sentence:

“Shows” should not be plural.  Just give the title or say “The TV show 3rd Rock…”

In US English, we would call this “a half hour” show, not “a half an hour” show.  Unless this is different in Australia, that is a change you should make.

“Channel 20” is a proper noun and should be capitalized.

In the second sentence:

“Sitcom” should be “sitcoms.”

Genre” should be deleted unless you say “… is one of the most successful shows in the fantasy sitcom genre…”

In the third sentence:

“Forecasts” is not the right word.  “Depicts” or “portrays” would be better.

The rest of the paragraph is quite well written, which brings me to a final concern.  From what I have seen of your writing over the three essays you have posted here, this does not sound like you.  Please be very sure that you have not copied any sentences from other sources.  If you have, please be sure to cite your sources.

Moby Dick deals with facing one’s own emotions and relationship issues which many views may find relevant.

I think that the fundamental problem is that I sense two different essays in play here.  The first one overall deals with the sit- com and its overall reception.  I think that more detail is needed about why this particular show was received so well.  Essentially, I am not seeing why this show was the benefactor of so much critical and public praise.  If we make the argument that television is reflective, to an extent, of society, what is in this show that resonated so evidently with the public?  This is not entirely made clear.  It seems as if it is intimated, but the overall picture is not painted.  In addition, I would eliminate what channel it can be found and the times because this is more local than anything else and with syndication, this varies.

The second issue with the essay is its pivot into the "Moby Dick" episode.  I think that quotes would be needed here to indicate the title of the episode.  At the same time, some claims are made about the show and little is offered in terms of evidential support. For example, what in the show makes it "facing one’s own emotions and relationship issues which many views [sic] may find relevant"?  I am not seeing the analysis here which would strengthen the argument being made.
