Anne has many things she wishes to ask Peter. Some are about family. Some are about feelings. But, the most unusual thing was about sex, which was not discussed much between parents and children. The topic came into the open when Anne wanted to know if Boche the cat was a male or female. Later, Peter showed her the cat's private parts. As she becomes more interested in Peter as a love interest, she asks him more about male anatomy and sexual practices. They share many conversations about after the war as well. (P.S.-I read the original version of the story when I was in school. I did not know that Anne's father censored the sex entries in the journal until years later when he allowed those entries to be published. Needless to say, she seems a much more "real" teenager in this more recent, updated version.)
