Chapter Summary:
Teabing has the plane land, then go to the hanger briefly first instead. The Kent chief inspector insists on inspecting the plane. Teabing responds by leaving the plane, warning them not enter the plane. They do, but find nothing, because in the earlier trip to the hanger, Langdon and Sophie had pulled Silas from the plane and hidden him behind the limousine in which they all now drive away.

Chapter 82

Chapter Summary:
As they drive through London, Langdon reviews the entire four-line poem:

"In London lies a knight a Pope interred.
His labor's fruit a Holy wrath incurred.
You seek the orb that ought to be on his tomb.
It speaks of Rosy flesh and seeded womb."

They all speculate on what this might mean, and Teabing suggests they visit the Temple church, which has, he explains, pagan architecture: a round design, to honor the sun. Remy doesn't know exactly how to get there, so Teabing goes forward to guide him, leaving Langdon and Sophie mostly alone. They again discuss what to do with the documents, once accessed, and the implications of literal faith.

Chapter Summary:
At the Temple Church, Teabing guides them in impersonating Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Wren the Fourth, descendents of Sir Christopher Wren who restored the church after the Great Fire, there to spread ashes. They bluff their way past the altar boy and begin inspecting the tombs.

Chapter Summary:
In the limousine behind the Temple Church, Remy (Teabing's servant) frees Silas, and admits to serving the mysterious Teacher.

At the Kent airport, Fache is enraged, and orders the pilot to force open the safe in Teabing's plane. While he's there, Bishop Aringarosa calls. Fache tells him to come to Kent.

Chapter Summary:
As the Grail seekers inspect the tombs, the altar boy sees they are sightseeing, not depositing ashes, and reveals that the tombs there are not actual tombs, but effigies: they've been searching in the wrong place.

As altar boy is convinced to leave them alone again, he hears a sound at the door. A man in a tuxedo grabs him, aims a gun at him, and forces him to leave, warning him not to tell the police.

Chapter Summary:
Silas enters the church grabs Sophie, holding her at gunpoint and demanding the keystone. Remy watches the situation get out of hand, remembering that Silas had been forbidden to fire his gun, and decides to enter. He draws a gun and points it at Teabing. Remy fires his gun, forcing them to give the keystone to Silas, then leaves, pulling Teabing out of the church.

Chapter Summary:
Langdon and Sophie report Teabing's kidnapping to the police. When Sophie identifies herself to the police, Fache comes on the line, telling them that all charges against Langdon and Sophie have been dropped, but that they are in danger. Sophie realizes Fache is tracing the call, and hangs up on him.
