Themes: Father and Son Bond
Another significant theme is the relationship between father and son. Reuven shares a close connection with his father, largely embracing his father's values and lifestyle. In contrast, Danny's relationship with his father is more complex and challenging, as his father has chosen to teach him "through silence." Danny opts for a path very different from what is expected of him, rejecting many of his father's beliefs and certain aspects of his lifestyle. Despite this, Danny and his father share a deep bond of love. They cherish their time studying the Talmud together, which is the only occasion they converse. The father takes immense pride in his son, while the son, despite wanting to forge his own path, respects his father and wishes to avoid causing him pain or disappointment.
