Gordon, Caroline 1895–

An American novelist, short story writer, and literary critic, Gordon writes about rural southern life, paralleling the decline of the family and its traditions with the disintegration of the South following the Civil War. Her novels are historically precise, painting a representative picture of her native Kentucky.
