Jesus told the parable of the sower to show how an enemy to goodness will sow evil seeds whereas a good sower will sow good seeds. This parable can be found in the New Testament in Matthew 13. In the 39th verse, Jesus explains that the evil sower in the parable is the devil and that which grows from what he sows are his children. Basically, if there is a wicked child then one can know whom s/he worships. In Matthew 16:18, Jesus tells Peter that if he builds his life around what Jesus is teaching, that the devil will not be able to conquer him. Each person has to build up his/her defenses against the devil by living the teachings of Jesus.
