In scene 13, Cleopatra and her attendants go to Cleopatra's tomb so that Cleopatra can fake her death by suicide and see how Antony will react.

Antony reflects on the strange shapes of the clouds in scene 14. Antony himself feels like he is shifting as quickly as the clouds. Then Mardian enters with news of Cleopatra's “suicide.” He assures Antony that Cleopatra really did love him and was loyal to him. Antony is brokenhearted and decides to kill himself. He wants Eros to do the job for him, but he refuses, killing himself instead. Antony stabs himself but does not die right away. No one will finish the job, so Antony requests they take him to Cleopatra's tomb.
