Chapter 80 Summary

Sansa wakes in the middle of the night after dreaming of Winterfell and her family. She is not with them, however. She is Alayne Stone, Petyr Baelish's bastard daughter, and she is in the Eyrie, Lysa Arryn's mountain castle. Its walls are high, but the castle is small, and Lady Lysa keeps few people there as she is so jealous of her son, the sickly child, Robert. Sansa goes outside, where it is snowing and builds a snow castle of Winterfell. Petyr eventually shows up and helps her. He kisses her. Robert arrives and destroys the castle. After, Marillion, Lysa's favorite singer, comes to take Sansa to her aunt. When the three of them are alone, Lysa accuses Sansa of enticing Petyr, the man she gave her "maiden's gift" to, and drags her to the Moon Door, a whole in the floor that looks out over the empty sky, as Marillion sings. Petyr enters and confronts the hysterical Lysa. She explains all the things she has done for Petyr: getting him his first post, taking him to King's Landing, and even poisoning her husband, Jon Arryn. Petyr explains that he has only ever loved one woman—Catelyn—as he pushes Lysa through the Moon Door. He turns and summons the guards, explaining that Marillion has just murdered his wife.
