A native of Albuquerque, I attended the University of New Mexico, graduating in 1989 with a B. A. in English (minor in History). Graduate studies at Tulane University took me to New Orleans where I specialized in 19th-Century British Literature and Literary Theory (Ph. D. 1998, dissertation on Percy Bysshe Shelley). I have taught English at Iowa State University (1997-2001) and at Southwestern Oklahoma State University (2001-2014) in Weatherford, where I reside today.
