Please respond based on the below information.
You work hard in your office; overtime, weekends, and early mornings. You get paid well, but you realize your coworkers get paid the same as you do. Though they do not put in the effort you do. Some have even been promoted ahead of you. Identify which of the responses below is the best one to adopt, and please explain your answer.
- Continue to work hard and hope it is recognized
- Begin slacking off
- Roll your eyes at the other employees and make them feel guilty
- Look for another job
This is an unfortunate situation. If people are getting ahead in the office and you are not, even though you put in longer hours and do more work, it can be frustrating. There are a few options open to you and some are better than others. For example, rolling your eyes at those who have been promoted does little. Slacking off only hurts you; as it is good to be diligent at work.
If you take the first option and continue to work hard with the hopes of being noticed, this is an honorable option. Furthermore, hopefully you will be notice in time. You might also want to talk with your supervisors to see what they are thinking. You might even want to ask, why you have not been promoted. This is probably the best option.
To look for another job is not a bad option either. Moreover, it is not incompatible with working hard and talking to your supervisor. A combination of actions is the best option to take.
