Love at first sight is an important theme in Shakespeare’s comedic play As You Like it. There are three instances of this in the play. Phoebe and Ganymede (Rosalind) embody the best example of this theme when Phoebe, who has been pursued by Silvius throughout the play, falls instantly in love with Ganymede (Rosalind) upon first sight. Rosalind and Orlando first meet after Orlando wins a wrestling match and they have instant feelings for one another. Celia ns Oliver also fall in love when they first meet.
