Yes, just like your posts on Akbar, what is fascinating about Kangxi is the way that he was equally successful in military conquest and rule as he was in promoting culture and art. This is something that is not common in military rulers and emperors.
What impressed me most about him was the degree to which he was interested in culture and intellectual life. This was a man who was vigorous in war and conquest. But at the same time he cared enough about other things to have things like the Kangxi Dictionary created.
