Poor Louisa! Dickens includes both characters to point out the importance of imagination. Of course most of us are going to pick Sissy! Who wants to grow up in the oppressive world to which Louisa is subjected. Being human is about feeling, dreaming and enjoying oneself. It is not about facts. When we choose facts over emotions, we end up like poor Louisa. Repression is destructive.

Sissy, definitely. Although she finds it very hard to be forced to grow up into a fact-filled world, we also see that she does not allow the fire of fancy to be quenched within her. Louisa leads a damaged and repressed life because of her upbringing, and never entirely is able to recover from this, as her emotionally isolated fate makes clear.

I believe my choice would have to be Sissy.  She is stuck in a world after being abandoned by her father and family of traveling circus performers, but at least her life is not as stifled and dismal as Louisa who is trapped in a marriage without love.  This I could not fathom.
