This question is asking for two different things. The summary of this story that you write could be quite short depending on the requirements for length of your overall response. "The Ransom of Red Chief" tells the story of Bill and Sam. They are two kidnappers that kidnap Johnny in a get rich quick scheme. Their plan is completely thwarted by Johnny because he turns out to be the most unruly and difficult child imaginable. The two kidnappers end up having to pay the kid's father just to take him back.
