An illustration of the letter 'A' in a speech bubbles

This collection of poems contains descriptions of Native American life.  It earned the Oklahoma Book Award in 1994.  The poetry is more like prose writing and unconventional.  It describes Native American rituals and life, and comments on modern life as a Native American.  Concepts of tribal memory, ancestry, and naming are explored.  The beauty of nature is explored.
