This is a good prompt. I totally agree. 

Arguably the fastest moving industry today is technology. When one product comes out, more follow: Facebook, tumblr, before them myspace, xanga, and the list goes on.

In time, technologies are replaced with new ones at what seems like a rapid pace. In light of this environment, it is easy to get tied up with technology itself, rather than seeking applications for technology. If this happens, then technology in the area of social media won't be used well. What good is social media if it does not have a social purpose? 

Therefore, it behooves users of social media to capitalize on social media. This should be the primary focus, not technology itself. Ideally what a company should do is "max out" on each social media platform while keeping an eye out for new technologies.

I believe with the way society is today and the Marketing tools that are available, it is imperative for a business to stay in touch with technology, Using sites that are FREE is even more of an incentive for a company to compete with their competitors. Instagram, Facebook, Snap Chat, etc. are where a business can concentrate on the 4 P's of the Marketing Mix and really get an edge on their competitors.
