I think that the two kingdom classification system BECAME inadequate as scientific exploration and knowledge became more complex. So many new forms of life have been (and continue to be) discovered that the 2 kingdoms just couldn't be expanded to include all forms of life that didn't need the criteria for inclusion in the 2 kingdoms that I learned so many years ago.  What do you do with a plant without chlorophyl?  Just doesn't fit in a Kingdom that uses chlorophyll as a criterion for inclusion,  I wonder if more Kingdoms will need to be added as science learns even more about our world.
