Personal accountability is the act of taking responsibility for your actions. This is important in all areas of life. When it comes to academics this is very important, because it is very easy to cheat to get ahead. When a person cuts corners, he or she is not only unfair to himself or herself, but also other classmates and even future employers. And there can be negative ramifications in the future.

Even when it comes to personal goal setting, it is important to have personal accountability, because no one will know if you reached your goals or not, as they are personal. Moreover, no one knows if we have tried our best better than ourselves. Hence, to have integrity in this area is essential for optimal growth.
